PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have identified one candidate they will seriously consider to fill their now vacant offensive coordinator position. According to a report from Albert Breer, senior NFL reporter at Sports Illustrated, the Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders requested to interview Los Angeles Rams passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Zac Robinson to fill their open coordinator positions.
Robinson has already interviewed with the Chicago Bears and has an interview scheduled with the New England Patriots, according to Breer. He just concluded his fifth season with the Rams overall second as the quarterbacks coach and pass-game coordinator. Robinson helped oversee a career renaissance for Matt Stafford, who posted a career-high completion percentage during the 2022 season. Led by star wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, the Rams ranked 10th in passing yards per game this past season. Robinson, a former college quarterback at Oklahoma State, played for the Patriots, Seahawks, Lions and Bengals in the NFL and all of his previous coaching experience has come with the Rams. The Steelers dismissed offensive coordinator Matt Canada in November and had running backs coach Eddie Faulkner and quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan share offensive coordinator duties during the remainder of the season. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said last week that neither are considered candidates for the full-time job at this point.
