PHOENIX — On the second night of a back to back, the Phoenix Suns stopped their brief two-game losing streak with a 118-105 win over the Miami Heat on Monday night.

The Heat are now on a seven-game losing streak, their first such instance since 2008. Phoenix, now jumping to 27-20 on the season, led by as much as 28 on the night.

The Suns jumped out to a quick 33-25 lead after the first quarter thanks to Drew Eubanks’ early 11 points. Despite playing behind starter Jusuf Nurkic (who got himself in foul trouble early) and other stars in Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, he was the first to reach double-digit scoring for Phoenix.

The second quarter saw the Suns surge ahead to a double-digit advantage thanks to their ability to hit shots (50% from the field) and limiting their turnovers (3) against a scrappy Heat squad.

The Suns did lose Grayson Allen in the first half after he awkwardly rolled his ankle. You can read more about that below:

Phoenix managed to extend their lead against the Heat to 20 points midway through the third in spite of Allen’s absence. They maintained their lead to a 100-74 tune heading into the final period of play after five of Phoenix’s players reached double-digits in scoring.

Miami went on a quick 11-0 run to begin the fourth and drew their deficit down to as little as 11 after Phoenix began the final period making just four of their first 20 shots – though the Suns were able to hang on as the clock dwindled thanks to draining open looks.
