Done Deal: Rusher Bryce Huff, Coming to The New York Giants….

The New York Giants clearly had to add to their pass-rushing unit high on their to-do list this off-season, as evidenced by their willingness to not only give up some draft assets to acquire former Carolina edge rusher Brian Burns but also give him a five-year deal worth $141 million with $87.5 million guaranteed. Before acquiring Burn in a trade that included the Giants’ original second-round pick (No. 39), the exchange of fifth-round picks this year, and a 2025 fifth-round selection, the Giants had an interest in Jets pass rusher Bryce Huff, who signed with the Eagles.

Huff confirmed the Giants’ interest during his introductory press conference with the Eagles media, adding that the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders were also interested in signing him. Huff’s deal with the Eagles is reportedly for three years and up to $51.1 million, with $34.4 million guaranteed. This is a much lower and shorter deal than what the Giants gave to Burns (the first free agent to receive a five-year commitment in the Joe Schoen era), who was acquired via trade

Huff, who went undrafted out of Memphis in 202, received the highest-paid non-quarterback contract for an undrafted player in NFL history. According to Pro Football Focus, Huff’s overall pass-rush win rate of 22.9 percent was miles ahead of Burns’s 14.0 percent last season. But Burns, who has played in more seasons than Huff, has 46 career sacks to Huff’s 17.5 (ten of which came in 2023)..
