Kalen DeBoer, winner of the 2023 Associated Press, AFCA, Eddie Robinson, George Munger, Walter Camp and Home Depot Coach of the Year awards, has been selected as head football coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide. DeBoer comes to Tuscaloosa after spending the last two seasons at Washington. “We are excited to welcome Kalen and Nicole DeBoer, and their daughters, Alexis and Avery, to The University of Alabama,” said Byrne. “Coach DeBoer has proven he is a winner and has done an incredible job as a head coach at each of his stops. One of the things I told our team…
Alabama HC Kalen DeBoer can send a statement to LSU and Florida by landing 5-star QB Alabama is in the mix for a 5-star QB in the 2027 cycle, and could send a big statement to SEC rivals by landing him. Fresh off of signing the No. 2 QB in the country in the 2025 class in Keelon Russell, Kalen DeBoer and Alabama weren’t able to attract the elite of the elite signal-callers in the 2026 class. That being said, they still ultimately landed two intriguing four-star prospects in Jett Thomalla and Tayden Kaawa, both of whom possess the talent…
Who really is Kalen DeBoer? Like, who is the coach now in Year 2 of a historically difficult job replacing a legend? It’s been a question we’ve been asking for 18-plus months since DeBoer stepped off that plane in Tuscaloosa. And what makes him different from his predecessor? How is he similar? In a way, DeBoer’s an enigma — a disarmingly friendly guy who brings an unmistakably different personality to this college football blue blood. But what’s he really like as a coach? And how different is he from the last guy? AL.com spoke to a collection of the…
The Alabama Crimson Tide enter the 2025 college football season in a bit of an unfamiliar spot. While fans and critics alike gradually got used to Nick Saban not being on the Alabama footballsideline after 17 unprecedented seasons of success, coach Kalen DeBoer still has some skepticsentering 2025. Alabama finished 9-4 in DeBoer’s first season and despite an ugly late-season loss at Oklahoma, the Crimson Tide appeared set to make the College Football Playoff — even with three losses. The Clemson Tigers and Dabo Swinney, a former Alabama player turned formidable thorn in the side, then stole the Crimson Tide’s…
Nick Saban has been all kinds of busy in retirement with College GameDay, travels, golf, business and more. That includes sitting down multiple times for the upcoming documentary on his time with Alabama football. Miss Terry, the wife of legendary coach, joined Kip Tyner on “Great Day Tuscaloosa” recently and revealed a seven-part documentary is in the works on she and her husband’s time with the Crimson Tide. The company Words + Pictures is putting it together. They have done 70 interviews of former players, coaches,” Miss Terry said. “I don’t know who they’ve missed. They’ve been to our house…
Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney will always love the Alabama Crimson Tide. Swinney, after all, joined Alabama as a walk-on receiver in 1989 under former coach Bill Curry. He spent the next three years playing for Gene Stallings, and as a senior in 1992, Swinney won a ring as a member of the Crimson Tide’s 13-0 national championship squad. After graduating, Swinney worked his way up to a full-time coaching position on Alabama’s staff from 1996-2000. Swinney’s own coaching staffs have featured numerous players with Alabama ties through the years. Mickey Conn, a college teammate of Swinney’s, is the…

When the 2025 season opens, he’ll be back on set with ESPN’s College Gameday, which will open the season at Ohio State, for Lee Corso’s final week on the show. Saban was back in Tuscaloosa on Tuesday, hosting a luncheon for his Nick’s Kids Foundation charity. While speaking to reporters at the event, he was asked who he likes to win the SEC during the 2025 season. I think Texas is one of the teams that obviously is really, really good this year,”…

After the Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, it was hard to even imagine that the Pacers star could walk properly again any time soon. However, he proved everyone wrong, followed his guts, and walked into the WWESummerSlam with pride. The walking boot is a major improvement for him as he was using a scooter to move around, less than two weeks ago. However, his appearance in the SummerSlam was met by heavy boos from the Knicks…
