‘He has two major flaws’: Luka Dončić’s biographer on the Lakers star A new book chronicles the Slovenian’s rise with the Dallas Mavericks, his extraordinary skills and the fallout from a trade that shook the NBA Seventy-three points. Alabama football coach Kalen DeBoer lost some bad games in his first season with the program, but it was far from the worst first season by a Crimson Tide coach. After a 19-13 loss to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, Alabama finished 9-4. That’s a .69 win percentage for DeBoer, which ranks fourth for coaches in the past century behind Frank Thomas (9-1), Wallace Wade (7-2-1) and Red Drew (8-3). Thomas went 9-1 in 1931, Wade went 7-2-1 in 1923 and Drew went 8-3 in 1947. Nick Saban finished 7-6 (.54) in his first season. Paul W.…

After a half dozen game-day visits taken during the 2024 college football season, all trips are on hold until January when ACC stalwart Clemson is expected to welcome the Class of 2026 prospect again. Once the New Year begins and visits take place, the list of favorites will get narrowed down.…

There are far more issues at play when a team is 12-13 under its coach, including 8-10 in the Big Ten, and coming off the program’s first losing season and missed bowl game opportunity in 23 years. And Fickell was willing to go there, too. But from a big-picture perspective, this is where he starts. …

NEW ORLEANS — Pelicans fans have been here before. After missing 27 games with a left hamstring strain, Zion Williamson returned to the court on Tuesday night and provided one of the few gratifying moments the New Orleans Pelicans could savor during an awful season. Still, it was tough to overlook the feelings of déjà vu that hung in the air. With all the injuries he’s dealt with in the past, “Zion’s long-awaited return” almost feels like an annual event at Smoothie King Center. Pelicans fans have grown familiar with all the steps that go into the process. There’s the…
