The Carolina Panthers have an enemy in the locker room. It can strike anyone, anywhere at anytime and goes unseen. Of course, it’s only a “bug,” as head coach Dave Canales called it on Wednesday, but it is still wreaking havoc on the team’s injury reportfor this week. The latest victim of the bug is star right guard Robert Hunt, who was not seen at today’s practice. Afterwards we learned that he has come down with the same bug that has affected several of his teammates. Hunt was one of three players who were listed as non-participants for Thursday’s practice.…

There has been plenty of action happening off Stadium Drive. Drivers can see the construction of the Dunlap Football Center and ongoing renovation to Doak Campbell Stadium. The Oklahoma Sooners have lost quite a few players to the transfer portal this offseason. But, this has become a formality in college football. LSU head coach Brian Kelly isn’t giving up on QB Garrett Nussmeier, whose late-season regression hurt his NFL draft stock and undid the Tigers’ College Football Playoff hopes. As CBS Sports’ Will Backus points out, Nussmeier will remain the starter despite the addition of Michael Van Buren Jr. via the transfer portal. Quinn Ewers might be the most under-appreciated quarterback in the modern era of Texas football. Why just the modern era? Nobody knows how Bobby Layne or James Street would have been treated on social media. At least we had talk radio as a means to nitpick Peter Gardere and James Brown.
