On Wednesday, the Southeastern Conference announced finalized schedules for both the University of Alabama and Auburn University. Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive end and college football expert David Pollack thinks that Georgia has an easier College Football Playoff path to the national championship game than the Oregon Ducks. Georgia is the No. 2 seed in the playoff and Oregon is the No. 1 seed, so hypothetically, Georgia should have a harder path to the national championship. Gleaton Jones, a former walk-on running back for the University of Georgia Bulldogs football team, has died at 21 following a car crash this week. Jones died on Friday, Dec. 13, according to an obituary shared by Matthews Funeral Home. His death comes three days after a Tuesday, Dec. 10 car crash left him hospitalized with a brain injury, according to UGA’s independent student newspaper The Red & Black. UCF hired Scott Frost as its head football coach on Saturday, reaching agreement on a five-year contract through the 2029 season. The move reunites the Knights with one of their most successful coaches in program history. Frost coached UCF from 2016 to 2017 and led a remarkable turnaround in his second year, guiding the Knights to a perfect 13-0 season and a No. 6 finish in the Associated Press poll. Walker, who played football at Georgia from 1980-1982, has accomplished a lot, but still had not graduated from the University of Georgia.
