Last year, NFL fans witnessed a breakout year by the Detroit Lions that saw them tie their franchise record for the most wins in a single season with a 12-5 mark. This placed the Lions in the spotlight, and Amon-Ra St. Brown’s career year couldn’t have come at a better time. St. Brown was one of five pass-catchers featured on Netflix’s Receiver series, providing access to unforeseen behind-the-scenes action. This included the many injuries receivers deal with on a day-to-day basis. But for the Lions, it could get them in trouble with the NFL. Related: See where Jared Goff lands…

Morgan Lake made her name as the first British woman to make an Olympic high jump final since 1992 at the 2016 games in Rio, while still a teenager. Although she came in tenth place, the Milton-Keynes born athlete has gone on to win numerous medals, including picking up silver both at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the Athletics World Cup. More recently, she came fourth at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and last year the 27-year-old broke the British high jump record with a clearance of 1.99 metres at the annual athletics event at HustopeÄŤe, Czech Republic. In doing so,…
When Wang Jianan reached 8.36 meters in the men’s long jump final at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on July 16, 2022, he became the first Asian gold medalist in the discipline in the history of the World Championships. “Winning the gold at the World Championships in Eugene was a dream come true. The Los Angeles Lakers are just one of three NBA teams that have yet to add a free agent this summer. The inactivity from general manager Rob Pelinka and Co. is astounding given their first-round exit in the 2024 NBA Playoffs. Even with LeBron James returning, this is not a championship-caliber roster. That was proven over and over again during the 2023-24 season. Most figured that Los Angeles would go big-game hunting on the trade block. It was linked to Dejounte Murray before he was sent from the Atlanta Hawks to the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers were also in…
One of their coaches, Bryan Simmons, said the players had fun and learned new skills, and also got to meet some of the other flag-football players in the state. “It’s been a long but fun day,” Simmons said from Lake Forest on Tuesday afternoon. The inaugural Danville High team also got to watch a Bears practice and meet head coach Matt Eberflus, whom they thanked for helping them by providing training equipment and uniforms, including home and away jerseys. The Danville players got to take pictures with and get autographs from the Bears players hosting the flag-football clinic, including running…
Greg Rutherford is a throwback to a bygone era of Britishness, pre-Brexit and Prime Minister Borisand Braverman, a world of gold postboxes and Olly Murs. And at 37, with three kids, a whippet puppy called Clunkers and a Momfluencer wife with 126,000 Instagram followers, he’s now living the archetypal Team GB gold medallist’s retirement. Rutherford’s role in London 2012’s Super Saturday, winning the long jump while Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill and Sir Mo Farah also took gold across 46 miraculous minutes, made him a national icon. He remains Britain’s greatest long jumper, but that accolade has not delivered lifelong riches. “There’s…

Vitello, the beloved seventh-year head coach, joined the Voice of Tennessee Baseball John Wilkerson for a question-and-answer session as the players on the stage and fans in the crowd basked in the glory of the Vols winning a title in a major sport for the first time since Pat Summitt’s eighth women’s…
Donald Trump’s campaign on Tuesday filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission against the vice-president Kamala Harris, accusing her 2024 campaign of violating federal campaign finance laws by replacing Joe Biden’s name with her own to take control of his campaign funds. The complaint, filed by the Trump campaign’s general counsel, David Warrington, argued that the Biden campaign could not rename its committee from “Biden for President” to “Harris for President” once Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday, and roll over $91m. “This is little more than a thinly veiled $91.5m excessive contribution from one presidential candidate…
