An elite wide receiver recently made a remark about what he thought of the New York Giants quarterback situation this offseason that should ruffle the feathers of Daniel Jones. Jones is recovering from an ACL injury he suffered last season.
The New York Giants have two backup quarterbacks on the roster
The Giants brought in Drew Lock in free agency last month to compete with Jones for the starting spot this fall. However, the Giants mightย draft a quarterback in the first round of Aprilโs draft. The Giants hold the No. 6 pick, and they could take a quarterback there or trade up for someone like J.J. McCarthy
The Giants need receivers regardless of who is under center in the upcoming season. Some mock drafts have the Giants drafting a wide receiver with the No. 6 pick. LSU standoutย Malik Nabers is a likely prospectย the Giants could select this month.
Malik Nabers thinks the Giants will โfigure it outโ at QB
During an interview withย CBS Sports HQ, Nabers was asked what he thought about the Giants potentially drafting him. Nabersย saidย theyโd need to figure out how to find a quarterback that could get him the ball.
โI donโt know where Iโm going. Going to New York, it wouldnโt be a bad idea,โ Nabersย said. โThe quarterback situation, I know theyโre going to figure it out, especially if they have a caliber receiver coming like me. Theyโre going to want to get me the ball, so Iโm sure theyโre going to want to have a quarterback that can do that.โ
