The Indiana Pacers enter the 2025 offseason with point guard Tyrese Haliburton’s unfortunate injury, sidelining him for the foreseeable future. Now, the team is searching for players to step up to take on the point guard position in the NBA Summer League. Among these players is former Husker Keisei Tominaga.
Tominaga made a name for himself at Nebraska, where he spent three seasons with the Huskers, becoming a star point guard. He averaged 15.1 points per game in his final season and a .376 three-point percentage, landing 76 on the season.
Tominaga was then picked up by the Pacers and began his professional career in the G League. He played the 2024-2025 season for the Indiana Mad Ants and averaged 5.4 points in 14 games, making 46.9% of his shots from beyond the arc.
Tominaga’s offensive skills came through in a four-game span in February, where he averaged 11 points across the stretch. He delivered two double-digit games in that span, scoring 10 points against College Park before racking up 17 points against Birmingham the following day.
Tominaga recorded one last double-digit game in late March against Grand Rapids, where he dropped 13 points. Following the season, he then returned to Japan to play in the B.League, which is run by the Japan Professional Basketball League. Tominaga signed with Levanga Hokkaido, who play in the top division.
Now, he is being given the opportunity to play in the NBA’s Summer League, which is set to begin this Saturday. Indiana starts their Summer League play on Thursday, July 10, against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. CT on NBA TV and ESPN+.
