The Wisconsin Badgers basketball program has been on a scheduling run this last week. They added an exhibition game with Oklahoma at the Fiserv Forum for next season. They’ve added a home-and-home with neutrals with BYU. Where the Badgers will play in Salt Lake City next season, and the Cougars will come to Milwaukee in the following year. They are now doing the same thing with Villanova.
According to Jon Rothstein, the two programs have agreed to a “neutral site” split, which basically means they won’t be playing at their home arenas but nearby NBA arenas. The first season will bring Villanova to Fiserv Forum, where the Milwaukee Bucks play, and then the Badgers will travel to Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia to take on Villanova in the arena where the Philadelphia 76ers play.
Wisconsin continues to add top-tier matchups to their future non-conference schedules
This is another good news situation for Wisconsin Badger fans and college basketball in general. High-quality matchups with top-tier programs are good for the sport and also good for the Badgers. It’s best if they win them, but unlike football, in basketball, you can lose a game, and if it’s against a good team, it’s not as detrimental. It’s actually good often as it can expose weaknesses, and the team can get better.
The 2025 game has been set for this matchup. Wisconsin will play host at the Fiserv Forum on December 19th, 2025. The 2026 season when the Badgers return is still being figured out, but the agreement is in place.
