Normally, nothing of real excitement happens in a preseason game. Guys are fighting for their spots on the roster, but everyone who already knows they have made the team usually just goes through the motions, if they are playing at all.
Apparently, going through the motions isn’t in Townsend’s DNA. During their preseason game against Pittsburgh, Townsend launched a punt downfield that was muffed by the Steelers and recovered by the Texans.
