Indiana basketball made another major splash in the transfer portal as guard Myles Rice officially committed to the Hoosiers, becoming the 10th transfer in what has become a complete roster overhaul under head coach Mike Woodson. Rice, who averaged 14.8 points and 3.3 assists per game at Washington State, brings immediate scoring punch and veteran leadership to a team in desperate need of both.
Rice was one of the most sought-after guards in the portal after helping lead the Cougars to their best season in over a decade. His ability to create off the dribble and knock down deep shots should make him a focal point in Indiana’s offensive scheme. Analysts have praised the Hoosiers’ portal strategy, which now includes commitments from Rice, Oumar Ballo (Arizona), and others forming what many are calling a “super team of transfers.”
“I chose Indiana because of its tradition and the chance to compete in the Big Ten,” Rice said. “This is a fresh start, and I’m hungry.”
With 11 confirmed scholarship players and more potential additions looming, Indiana suddenly looks like a team that could go from rebuilding to Big Ten contender almost overnight.
