The No. 22 Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday, falling 3-2 to Tulsa at Baum-Walker Stadium. Despite the setback, the Razorbacks remain confident and optimistic about their season prospects.

“We played well, but just didn’t get the result we wanted,” said Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn. “We’ll learn from this and move on.”

The Razorbacks (4-1) had won their first four games of the season, outscoring opponents 34-10. However, Tulsa’s pitching staff stifled Arkansas’ offense, holding them to just two runs on six hits.

“We faced some tough pitching tonight,” said Van Horn. “We had some chances, but couldn’t capitalize.”

Despite the loss, the Razorbacks’ pitching staff continues to impress. Starter Jaxon Wiggins allowed just two runs on five hits over six innings, striking out seven.

“Wiggins was great tonight,” said Van Horn. “He gave us a chance to win.”

The Razorbacks’ schedule only gets tougher from here, with games against power conference opponents and matchups against three in-state teams.

“We know we have a challenging schedule ahead of us,” said Van Horn. “But we’re ready for it. We’re excited to see where this season takes us.”

Arkansas will look to bounce back on Friday when they host Eastern Illinois in the first game of a three-game series.

“We’ll be ready to go on Friday,” said Van Horn. “We’ll learn from this loss and move forward.”

The Razorbacks’ strong start to the season has generated excitement among fans, who are eager to see how far this team can go.

“This team has a lot of potential,” said Arkansas fan, John Smith. “I think they can make a deep run in the postseason.”
