Auburn Star Tahaad Pettiford Makes Career Decision Ahead of NBA Draft

Despite coming off the bench for a majority of the 2024-25 college basketball season, Auburn Tigers guard Tahaad Pettiford became one of the more popular players in the NCAA Tournament.

Averaging 15.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists in five March Madness games, Pettiford helped Bruce Pearl and Auburn reach the Final Four for the first time since 2019, but couldn’t get past Florida.

Shortly after his successful NCAA Tournament run, Pettiford announced he had declared for the 2025 NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility.

I’m excited to officially declare my intent to test the waters for the 2025 NBA Draft, while maintaining my college eligibility,” Pettiford wrote on April 14. “Regardless of what happens next, Auburn will always be home, and if I choose to return, let’s run it back…”

On Tuesday, Pettiford shared a new post on his Instagram Story, revealing that he has signed with William Morris Endeavor (WME) Basketball, “a global agency providing elite representation & unparalleled service to professional basketball players.”

Pettiford is joined by four other players in WME’s “2025 NBA Draft Class,” including Dylan Harper (Rutgers), Derik Queen (Maryland), Tre Johnson (Texas) and Thomas Sorber (Georgetown).

Along with this year’s draft class, WME also represents numerous athletes across multiple sports, including soccer legend Megan Rapinoe, Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic and New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu. It also partners with numerous actors and musical artists such as The Weeknd and Chris Rock.

Even after signing with WME, Pettiford can still withdraw from the draft and return to Auburn for his second season.
