After winning the national championship and bringing the trophy back from Houston to Ann Arbor, the Michigan Wolverines are going to let the hardware go for a couple days so that fans can get their own look at it. The College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy presented by Dr Pepper, which was awarded to Michigan as the 2024 national college football champions, will be on display at three stores in the Ann Arbor area on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 11-12. Fans will be able to view and have their photo taken with the brand new 24k gold trophy that was awarded on field on Monday night. Thursday, Jan. 11 Meijer 3825 Carpenter Road Ypsilanti, Mich. 11 am – 2 pm Walmart 45555 Michigan Ave. Canton, Mich. 4 – 7 pm Friday, Jan. 12 M-Den 303 State St. Ann Arbor, Mich. 4 – 7 pm The National Championship Trophy presented by Dr Pepper was awarded on the field to the Michigan Wolverines as the winner of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game on Jan. 8 in Houston. The trophy is completing a season long tour, visiting marquee games and public events nationwide. Handmade from 24k gold, bronze and stainless steel, the trophy is 36.5 inches tall. The gold piece is 24.5 inches by itself. The trophy is handcrafted by the master fine art foundry UAP Polich Tallix in Walden, New York. Expert craftsmen worked three months to craft the trophy. Every year, a new trophy is made. Each winning school keeps The National Championship Trophy for permanent display on campus.
