The Detroit Lions head coach has been married to Holly Campbell for over 20 years. The pair have two children together, Cody and Piper, and made the move all together to Detroit, Michigan, after Dan got the coaching gig in 2021.
The position was originally open in 2018, and Dan hoped to get an interview then, he told The Athletic in August 2022, but it wasn’t his time.
“You kind of go through that feeling that the one job I really wanted is the one I’m never going to get,” Holly told the outlet of how he felt when he didn’t get the role.
However, together they remained faithful that his chance would come, and, just a few years later, it did. Now, Holly is happy to cheer for Dan and the Lions on the sidelines.
So who is Dan Campbell’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Holly Campbell and her relationship with the NFL coach.
Cody shares his father’s passion for working in the NFL, having held internships with the Saints and the Lions.
Piper is still in high school and is incredibly proud of her father for the work he’s done with the Lions. In a sweet tribute to Dan that she posted on Instagram in January 2023, Piper wrote about how much she loves her dad and looks forward to his future with the team.
“This has been crazy. You have shown everyone what the lions are truly made of,” she wrote. “You gave the city something to fight for and that this is not the ‘same old lions’. I cannot wait to see what you do in the future, I know it will be big. I’m so proud of you and love you so much🥰🦁.”
They love their three dogs, Thelma, Louise and Bird
Though Dan originally wasn’t interested in getting two Teacup Yorkies, Holly convinced him otherwise, and the couple welcomed Thelma and Louise into their family. They are also parents to Bird, a Catahoula Leopard Dog. However, it’s the Yorkies that now stick by Dan’s side.
