Breaking news: ‘Uncle Luke’ slams Miami Hurricanes WR coach, calls him……..

‘Uncle Luke’ slams Miami Hurricanes WR coach, calls him worst in program history

The Miami Hurricanes are off to their best season since 2017, sitting at 10-1. Ranked No. 8 in the nation, the Hurricanes are one win away from securing a spot in their second-ever ACC Championship Game. With Syracuse on the schedule for the final regular-season game, Miami’s hopes rest heavily on its high-powered offense, led by Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Cam Ward. Yet, for some, the team’s success isn’t enough.

Longtime Hurricanes fan and rapper Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell has never been shy about voicing his opinions on Miami football. Recently, he called out Miami wide receivers coach Kevin Beard, labeling him “the worst receiver coach in the history of the University of Miami football.”

Campbell’s criticism centers on Beard’s perceived inability to prepare Miami’s receiving corps for the future, particularly with several top wideouts likely departing for the NFL after this season.

“I look at the big picture,” Campbell said. “Who will we have next year with experience? More importantly, what is he [Beard] going to tell a recruit? Because four of these receivers on this list will be leaving for the NFL. That would leave us with a receiving corps of players with no game experience. Every position on this team rotates in some shape or fashion, except the receiver position.”

Campbell isn’t wrong that Xavier Restrepo, Miami’s leading receiver, along with Jacolby George, Sam Brown Jr., and junior tight end Elijah Arroyo, are likely heading to the NFL. However, the timing and tone of his comments—just days before Miami’s biggest game of the season—have raised eyebrows.

Beard, now in his second season coaching Miami’s wide receivers, is a former Hurricane himself. He graduated in 2003 and was part of the team’s 2001 national championship. Known as one of Miami’s top recruiters, Beard joined the program after five seasons coaching at Toledo.

Despite Campbell’s critique, Miami boasts the nation’s No. 1 scoring offense, averaging 44.7 points per game. While next year’s receiving corps remains untested, younger players, like Isaiah Horton, are expected to step into key roles. Head coach Mario Cristobal is also likely to utilize the transfer portal to bolster the position.

Fans and former Miami players, including Phillip Dorsett II, have rallied in defense of Beard.

“I’m not taking any KB slander,” Dorsett wrote on social media. “This has to be the dumbest post I’ve ever seen in the history of Twitter. KB is one of the best WR coaches in college football, and that’s a fact.”
