Miami Hurricanes’ Tyler Van Dyke Considering Transfer After Frustrations with Mario Cristobal’s Offensive Scheme

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is reportedly weighing his transfer options after growing frustrated with head coach Mario Cristobal’s offensive system. Sources close to the program suggest Van Dyke has privately expressed concerns about play-calling, feeling restricted in Cristobal’s conservative approach. The Hurricanes’ offense has struggled with consistency, and Van Dyke’s numbers have reflected that. Rumors intensified after a cryptic social media post from Van Dyke, in which he wrote, “Sometimes, a change is necessary to grow.” While the quarterback has not publicly addressed transfer speculation, insiders claim that multiple Power Five programs have already inquired about his availability. Schools like Florida State and Penn State are rumored to be interested should Van Dyke enter the portal. Meanwhile, Cristobal has been tight-lipped about the situation, merely stating, “We’re focused on building a championship culture.” Miami boosters are reportedly working behind the scenes to strengthen NIL offers in an attempt to retain Van Dyke, but the situation remains fluid. If the Hurricanes fail to show significant improvement in their next few games, Van Dyke’s future with the program could be in serious jeopardy, sending shockwaves through college football.
