Breaking news: Seahawks ‘could sign’ Steelers $4.1 million starting offensive lineman….

The Seattle Seahawks are going to be in the market for offensive linemen in 2025 and one NFL analyst believes one of the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ pending free-agent offensive linemen could be a target for them.

The Seahawks’ need for improved offensive line play is obvious. Seattle finished tied for third in the NFL in sacks allowed in 2024, with the team giving up a whopping 54. Only the Chicago Bears and Cleveland Browns gave up more.

In an article naming offensive linemen Seattle could target, 12th Man Rising’s Luke Allenbelieves the Seahawks could sign Steelers left tackle Dan Moore. Allen says Charles Cross’ inconsistency and Abraham Lucas’ injury history are reasons why Seattle should bring Moore aboard.

“Seahawks left tackle Charles Cross’s rookie contract expires after next season and I’m not sure he’s played himself into a second contract,” Allen explained. “The former ninth-overall selection has been wildly inconsistent in his three seasons in Seattle. On the other side of the line, right tackle Abraham Lucas has been really good when he plays, but he’s hardly been available. After another injury-riddled season, Lucas only played 406 snaps in 2024.

The Seahawks have to find some sort of consistency on the offensive line,” Allen added. “Moore Jr. has shown he can stay healthy and durable and continue to be a good bookend on an offensive line. In the best-case scenario, Cross and Lucas both play well and stay healthy in 2025, and Moore Jr. serves as a reserve swing tackle. But if the past is any indicator, Seattle would likely need his help for the foreseeable future.”

Moore will certainly be available in free agency, as the Steelers are planning to move forward with Troy Fautanu and Broderick Jones at the tackle spots.

The Steelers offensive lineman was on track to have a career-best campaign before he reverted back to his old form. After giving up two sacks and 15 pressures over his first nine games, Moore surrendered 10 sacks and 26 pressures over his final eight. In all, Moore gave up the most sacks in the NFL, per Pro Football Focus.

After four unsuccessful years in the NFL, it’s very clear that Moore is just a backup and not someone who should be starting. He wouldn’t be better than either of the Seahawks’ current tackles.
