Veteran quarterback Russell Wilson has agreed to a one-year contract with the New York Giants, aiming to revitalize the team’s offense after a challenging 3-14 season. The deal is valued at up to $21 million, with $10.5 million guaranteed.Â
Wilson, a 10-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl XLVIII champion, spent the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he threw for 2,382 yards and 16 touchdowns in 11 games. Prior to his time in Pittsburgh, Wilson had a brief tenure with the Denver Broncos following a trade from the Seattle Seahawks, where he had a storied nine-year career.
The Giants have also signed quarterback Jameis Winston to a two-year contract. Despite these acquisitions, the Giants hold the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft and may still consider selecting a quarterback to develop for the future.Â
Wilson’s arrival is expected to bring experience and leadership to the Giants’ locker room, providing mentorship to younger players and potentially bridging the gap to a future franchise quarterback. His proven track record and veteran presence could be instrumental in guiding the team through its rebuilding phase.
