Wisconsin Badgers news: 4 big commitments, Ole Miss robbery, HOF highlights
Since Friday, the news out of Wisconsin has been predominantly about recruiting for Wisconsin football. Head coach Luke Fickell and his team put together an impressive recruiting official visit weekend for 15+ recruits, and four of those 15 decided to give a firm commitment to Wisconsin. Here are links to all four of those commitments.
Stories about all four Wisconsin recruiting commitments
First, Arthur Scott, a big 3-star defensive lineman, decided to commit to the Badgers. The next domino was priority 3-star linebacker Ben Wenzel. Then, it was another 3-star defensive lineman, Djibjou Bah, with the final commitment of the four over the weekend coming from 4-star TE Jack Sievers. It was a huge weekend for 2026 recruiting, and according to Tayshon Bardo (a Wisconsin commit), they aren’t done yet.
Ole Miss was able to flip Carmelow Reed
The negative recruiting news this weekend came from Wisconsin commit Carmelow Reed, who went on an official visit to Ole Miss. After that visit, he decided to flip from playing for Luke Fickell to playing for Lane Kiffin. He made that news official on Monday.
If it wasn’t for the big recruiting window, that news would sting a whole lot more than it currently does. Adding two defensive linemen to the 2026 recruiting class before losing Reed made the blow way less severe.
Wisconsin Hall of Fame adds some big names for 2025
The Wisconsin Athletics Department added a brand new Hall of Fame class for 2025. One of those names was Frank Kaminsky, who gave a touching speech and said some amazing words about what it means to be a Badger.
