The Wisconsin athletic department originally proposed eliminating the cap on student season ticket prices. However, the Athletic Board’s Finance, Facilities, and Operations committee voted to retain the cap, limiting the price of student season tickets to 100% of the lowest adult ticket price, according to Chat Sports and BadgerExtra.
The athletic department’s initial proposal was to remove the language that capped student season ticket prices at half the cost of the lowest-priced adult season tickets. This change was intended to potentially allow the Badgers to increase student ticket prices, but the Athletic Board’s committee pushed back on that idea.
The committee’s decision to retain the cap, albeit at a higher percentage, ensures that student season ticket prices will still be limited, preventing a potential increase in costs for students.
