Adam Henrique formally ruled out for Game 1 as Oilers-Canucks series finally gets going

It’s only been a week since Edmonton Oilers last played a game, but it feels like a month. Consider that by the time the puck finally drops at 8:20pm MDT, the Boston Bruins will have played Games 6, 7, 1 and 2 in the lengthy interval since the Oilers mopped up the L.A. Kings in Game 5. Any price the Vancouver Canucks might have paid by losing their own chance to close out their first round series at home has surely dissipated. The Vancouverites had to make the longest same-conference flight in the league to and from Nashville, in between times expending a major effort to win a harrowing Game 6. But they’ve now had a full 4 days off between series, plenty of time for both rest and recuperation, as confirmed by The Athletic‘s Vancouver reporter Harman Dayal in a conversation with Allan “Lowetide” Mitchell on Sports 1440 today.
