Defensive end Cameron Heywardessentially ended his contract holdout, showing up for the final week of Pittsburgh Steelers OTAs. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t trying to play hardball in other ways to land a new deal. Through talking to the media at minicamp, Heyward presented the possibility of him finishing his career with another team. “I have talked to my wife, and we know the reality, and we have had those talks, and she said it could be fun to play somewhere else,” Heyward said, via The Athletic’s Mark Kaboly. “If that is what is needed to be done, then…

2024 will debut the expanded College Football Playoff, moving from four teams to 12. That obviously opens up a little wiggle room, and a team like Tennessee could be the beneficiary. On3’s Andy Staples thinks the Vols can take advantage. Staples penciled Tennessee into the No. 11 spot this week, setting them up with a hypothetical trip to Oregon. Remember, the first four games will be played on campus, so Eugene would be the host site for the game — and what a game that could be. A potential track meet there would send the winner to the round of…

Lions linebacker Derrick Barnes sounds confident after his journey to finding himself in the NFL, and as a result of some defensive improvements, feels poised for his best season. Derrick Barnes was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2021, so he has had a front row seat to the entire recent rise. After a 2023 season that saw him total 81 tackles and one sack with arguably the biggest postseason interception in recent Lions’ history, Barnes is feeling comfortable and reflective as he gets ready for another season. Healthy after suffering a knee injury in the NFC Championship Game, he…

Josh Hart wasn’t having it. The Knicks star posted on Instagram a picture series of himself serving as a host on ESPN’s NBA Finals coverage. Nets star Mikal Bridges, who was teammates with Hart at Villanova, commented “Come to the Nets?” Bridges is notably entering the final season of his contract with the Nets, and his name has been circulated in a plethora of rumors the other way around — to join the Knicks, either via a trade before this year or in free agency next year.

HEREFORDSHIRE athlete Clara Evans came away with a team gold medal from the European Athletics Championship. Evans was born and raised in Hereford and started her love for athletics from the age of eight. The 30-year-old long-distance runner set a new half-marathon personal best time of one hour, 10 minutes and six seconds despite difficult conditions in Rome. “The race went really well despite the warm conditions,” said Evans. The first part of the race was on cobbles and narrow roads with lots of turns which was difficult because of the large group. “We then moved onto the lapped section…

Fans are certainly disappointed with how this season ended for the Nuggets, but overall they’ve been a relatively stable organization for the last few years. Even after winning a title, nobody is considering them one of the glamour franchises in the league or anything like that, but they continually churn out a good product and seem to make savvy moves for the most part. In the wake of Dan Hurley turning down the Lakers gig, there has been a lot of debate about whether or not the Lakers head coaching job is actually a desirable one at all. On the…

It appears Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers will receive no punishment following an investigation into an alleged domestic assault. The NFL announced Thursday it couldn’t find enough evidence that Flowers violated its personal conduct policy, two months after Baltimore County police announced they had suspended their investigation with no criminal charges. The NFL’s full statement: Both investigations could theoretically be reopened should new evidence come to light, but for now, Flowers appears to be clear. The NFL does not require a player to be charged with a crime to be able to punish him. The incident at the center…

DALLAS — Last May, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown felt like he let his team down on one of the biggest stages in basketball. In Game 7 of the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals, he went 8-for-23 from the floor and had a whopping eight turnovers en route to a 103-84 loss to the Miami Heat. From that defeat, Brown only grew hungrier for a taste of playoff glory, which has been on full display against the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals. I mean, last year, just falling short on your home floor, it definitely hurt,” Brown said during…

As of last week, the Dallas Cowboys gained some relief on the salary cap as they absorbed $9.5M in cap space after designating Michael Gallup a June 1st cap casualty. For Gallup, he struggled to regain his form after an ACL injury during the 2021 season and was never quite the same. Gallup’s release allowed both sides to have a fresh start, with Gallup joining the Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas getting some cap space. Now, we all know that the Cowboys aren’t going to spend all of it in one place, and they usually like to hunt for a…

Since January, discussions concerning the Chicago Bears’ offseason have almost exclusively revolved around one thing: the quarterback. Mandatory Credit: Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports First it was about the departure of former starter, Justin Fields, who was eventually traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a day 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft; and subsequently concerned the selection of 1st overall pick, Caleb Williams, and whether he could break the long-standing Bears QB curse, who have…
