Michael Jordan is a legendary sports figure. What he is most known for outside of his championship runs is his competitive nature. He has an insatiable desire to win. He has a gear that he was able to go to as a player that very few have. He is incessant in his pursuits. After his retirement in 2003, most wondered what was next. Well, his Charlotte Hornets ownership came first. But once he sold his majority shares, he recently took his talents to NASCAR. Seems random right? Maybe not so much. The one thing that has always worked exceedingly well…
Here are the takeaways. 1. One day before Game 2, Jaylen Brown was passed over for All-NBA. In the grand scheme, it wasnât that important. Brown made All-NBA last season, which was when it really mattered (because it got him paid), and frankly, for the sake of Brownâs colleagues, not getting picked wasnât the worst thing in the world (because now Tyrese Haliburton can get paid). Still, the Celtics were not in contention for MVP or Coach of the Year. They had two All-Defense second team selections, which is nice, but Brad Stevens won Executive of the Year for assembling…
The Los Angeles Lakers have been looking for a new head coach after they parted ways with Darvin Ham on May 3. This is the most pressing issue for the Lakers and is certainly a big one. LeBron James is also expected to be a free agent this offseason and Los Angeles’ nailing this hire will work in their favor of retaining the 39-year-old. Lakers News: Shams Charania Names JJ Redick As Frontrunner for the HC Position Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium was a guest on the ‘Pat McAfee Show’ and talked about the Lakers and their coaching…

Earlier today, Inside the Leagueâs Neil Stratton – who seems to be on a real roll this offseason – announced that Adam Peters nabbed another scouting talent for his front office. Dustin Regan, who had been the Executive Director of the BLESTO scouting operation for seven years will now serve as Washingtonâs Southeast Region scout. Thatâs a particularly critical role, given how talent-rich that zone of the countryâs colleges and universities are. BLESTO is one of the top two subscription scouting services in the country (the other is âNationalâ). The firm was originally started by Jack Butler (pictured above) in…
The Steelers have found their next franchise cornerback in Joey Porter Jr. The No. 32 overall pick in 2023 put together an impressive rookie season, and by the end of the year, he was shadowing opposing teams’ No. 1 wide receivers weekly. Porter Jr. is a lock to be one of Pittsburgh’s outside cornerbacks this season, but who will play opposite him is still up for grabs. He believes fellow teammate and draft classmate Cory Trice Jr. can do the same things he can. I just been telling him the same thing, ‘If I can do it, I know you…
Following a spring with another round of transfer portal madness, Bill Connelly has updated his S&P+ rankings ahead of the 2024 college football season. Tennessee checked in at No. 15 overall, with Connellyâs formula giving the Volunteers a 23.4 percent chance of going 10-2 or better. Tennessee will be kicking off a new era under center, with former five-star prospect Nico Iamaleava getting the keys to the car. With Iamaleava running the show, S&P+ ranked the Tennessee offense 14th. The Vols will have plenty of familiarity returning up front, they bring back electric running back Dylan Sampson, and get back…
It is that point of the NFL offseason when we can start to think that maybe anything is possible, when a little-used player who has no resume to speak of can look good enough to spark speculation that maybe, just maybe, he could be an out-of-the-blue rags-to-riches story. Given the way the Cowboys roster has been bedraggled by free-agency losses and the lack of cap space to make up for those losses, one or two of those stories in Dallas would be useful. On the Locked on Cowboys podcast, they went looking through the current set of Cowboys for potential…

The Great Weight Debate Surrounding Lamar Jackson Rages On Lamar Jackson’s leaner physique continues to be a hot topic, with pundits weighing in on whether a skinnier Jackson is a good thing or not. Jackson said this week that he doesn’t know exactly how much weight he’s lost, but he revealed last month in an interview with Complex that he’s down to 205, which is 25 pounds less than he was in 2022 and 10 pounds less than he was last season. He said he shed the pounds to be more agile. ESPN’s Pat McAfee and Dan Orlovsky believe less is…
