As receiver DJ Moore begins his second season in Chicago, excitement is building about the team’s new offensive scheme and new set of playmakers. Between free agency and the draft, the Bears acquired quarterback Caleb Williams, receivers Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze, running back D’Andre Swift and tight end Gerald Everett to pair with Moore – who has recorded 1,000 yards in four of his six NFL seasons – and other returning offensive weapons such as tight end Cole Kmet, running back Khalil Herbert and receiver Tyler Scott. Moore feels the depth within the receiver room can create healthy competition…

The Los Angeles Lakers’ head coach search has been slow-moving. Ever since firing Darvin Ham earlier in the spring, the Lakers have been linked to multiple candidates. But nothing has come to fruition in this end. It’s a franchise-altering decision for general manager Rob Pelinka and Co. after a first-round exit in the 2024 NBA Playoffs. Los Angeles needs to hit a home run with this hire if the team wants to both retain LeBron James and be considered championship contenders. Hence, why it’s been a drawn-out process. Thursday’s NBA news could also change the dynamics big time in Southern…

Charles Barkley called out WNBA players for what he perceived as “petty” treatment toward Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark. Throughout the first five games of her WNBA career, there have been growing pains as the young guard adjusts to competition at the professional level. This has led some basketball fans online to believe that the other WNBA players — perhaps jealous of Clark’s immediate popularity — are deliberately taking that frustration out on Clark. Judging by his rant, Barkley seems to share that sentiment.

Since defensive lineman Jonathan Allenjoined Washington in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the franchise has had three names and 43 victories. It’s also had 72 losses. “It’s pretty known that we’ve had our struggles in the past,” Allen said on Wednesday, “but, I mean, it has been really good this year. I’m not going to talk about how great it is because at the end of the day we still got a lot to prove, but I have a smile on my face coming to work every day.” If that wasn’t enough of an endorsement of what’s…

It wasn’t Jaylen Warren’s intention to create headlines earlier this month when he praised Russell Wilson and Justin Fields while appearing to throw shade at the quarterbacks on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ roster last season. Speaking on teammate Cameron Heyward’s podcast a few days after the NFL Draft, Warren said he sees a “night and day difference I would say with their leadership” in the quarterback room. The third-year running back’s words were taken as a slight against Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph, the trio of quarterbacks on the roster the past two seasons. Not true, Warren clarified Thursday.…

Former Tennessee football defensive lineman Tyler Baron is on the move again. Baron transferred out of the Tennessee football program in December, which came as a surprise to some. It was expected he and James Pearce Jr. would be the Vols’ edge rushers in 2024, but he had different plans. The former Vol has notoriously transferred to three schools since December, with the University of Miami being his most recent stop. Before committing to Miami, he committed to Ole Miss out of Tennessee before officially transferring to Louisville for the spring. Louisville seemed to be just a placeholder for Baron to go…

Eight NFL teams hired new head coaches in the offseason and 14 teams are coming off playoff appearances, so most franchises are probably perfectly content with their HCs. But here are the 10 head coaches who are feeling more heat than their peers heading into the 2024 season. The list appears in inverse order, from hot to the hottest seat: 10. Dave Canales | Carolina Panthers First-year coaches shouldn’t belong on this list, but considering Carolina’s dysfunctional environment under owner David Tepper, anything is possible. The Panthers are on their fourth head coach under the former part-owner of the Pittsburgh…

Early on into the 2024 season, the Phoenix Mercury have been forced to deal with the absence of starting center Brittney Griner. One of the more well-renowned defensive anchors in WNBA history, the loss of Griner due to a fractured toe on her left foot isn’t an easy hurdle to overcome. However, Phoenix has done all it can to mask the loss of its star player, and have started 2-1 on the young season. Thank you for reading this post, don’t forget to subscribe! The dawn of a new culture for the Mercury has been one of the key storylines…

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant and guard Devin Booker picked up All-NBA honors on Wednesday. Durant was named to the second team, while Booker was named to the third team. The latter received the fewest votes among the All-NBA teams. Durant appeared in 75 games last year, averaging 27.1 points per game. He shot 52.3% from the field and 41.3% from long range. On top of his scoring prowess, Durant chipped in 6.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.2 blocks in 37.2 minutes per game.

The No 1 WNBA draft pick has landed a multiyear partnership with equipment maker Wilson, which has supplied the official ball of the WNBA since 2021. The deal, which was announced by the brand Tuesday, will include a signature basketball collection, making the Indiana Fever rookie the first since Michael Jordan to be given such an honor. The six-time NBA champion is believed to be the only other athlete to have developed a signature collection with Wilson, according to Boardroom. Wilson already has released three different gold and white basketballs that honor separate milestones in Clark’s college career The three Clark-branded…
