According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Dallas Cowboys and former running back Ezekiel Elliott have “mutual interest” in a reunion this offseason. With that in mind, here are three reasons why bringing Elliott back would be a good move for the Cowboys. Familiarity Seeing Elliott rocking a New England Patriots helmet during the 2023 campaign after donning the iconic Cowboys’ star for seven seasons just never looked right. The Cowboys can right that wrong by letting the 28-year-old come home, where he should fittingly finish off his NFL career. He’s only been away for a year, so the vast majority…

fter the 2023 NFL season officially came to an end for the Dallas Cowboys, with America’s Team being a massive disappointment in the NFL playoffs, losing to the upstart Green Bay Packers led by Jordan Love, the team and longtime owner Jerry Jones let it be known that star quarterback Dak Prescott was in line for a lucrative long-term contract extension. This seemed to be a questionable decision by Jones and the Cowboys brass, with Prescott still unable to prove he’s the right man for the job under center during the NFL playoffs, as he’s consistently failed to lead…
The Dallas Cowboys have lost some significant pieces of their pass rush game to free agency as Dorance Armstrong and Dante Fowler have both joined former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn in Washington. Bleacher Report sees a potential “splash” deal that would bring in someone to replace some of that defensive production lost. B/R proposes sending this year’s fifth-round draft pick, No. 174 overall, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for edge rusher Joe Tryon-Shoyinka This makes sense for a couple of reasons per Bleacher Report, as Tryon-Shoyinka comes at a budget price. “As it happens, the Cowboys have a big need on the edge…
The Michigan football team’s recently hired defensive line coach might be new to the Wolverines’ program, but he’s no stranger to its home state. On Friday, Michigan coach Sherrone Moore officially hired Lou Esposito as the Wolverines’ new defensive line coach. Esposito fills the spot that Greg Scruggs left, following Scruggs’ resignation after allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated. “I am excited to welcome Lou to our Michigan Football family and look forward to having his leadership and experience directing our defensive linemen,” Moore said in a statement. “Lou is a great defensive mind that has developed outstanding players and produced top units at…
The San Francisco 49ers have yet to find a reliable number two tight end option behind George Kittle. Charlie Woerner signed with the Atlanta Falcons, and Ross Dwelley remains a free agent. The 49ers hope they can sign a restricted free agent after the team signed him to an offer sheet. According to Dave Birkett, the 49ers signed Brock Wright to a 3-year, $12 million offer sheet. The Lions applied the right of first refusal original round tender on Wright on March 7. This tender is a one-year, $2.985 million non-guaranteed deal in which Wright can sign offer sheets from other teams, and the…
Free agent receiver Michael Gallup is looking for a new home after being cut by the Dallas Cowboys and he is now scheduled to visit the Balimore Ravens on Thursday, per a report. Gallup, who has also reportedly been visiting with the Panthers, was released by the Cowboys last week, as Dallas designated him as a post-June 1 cut. That move saves them $9.5 million in room this year, though Gallup will still count $8.7 million in dead money in 2025. Gallup has not fully rebounded, in terms of production, since an ACL tear during the 2021 season, as in…
When the Broncos released four-time All-Pro Justin Simmons at the beginning of the offseason, many people were shocked at the move. Perhaps if not for the mismanagement of the Broncos’ financial situation by GM George Paton, Simmons might have remained in Denver. I’ve written about a potential move for Simmons but as the dominos fell in free agency, it seems even more imperative that the Rams get their hands on such a talent. The Rams have already spent a bunch in free agency, bringing in the likes of Jonah Jackson, Colby Parkinson, Darious Williams and Tre’Davious White. However, Simmons is a ca…
Done Deal:Steelers Finally agree to terms and conditions with Quarterback Kyle Allen On The…
And just like that, the Pittsburgh Steelers have filled out their quarterback depth chart. According to multiple sources including ESPN Steelers reporter Brooke Pryor, the Steelers have agreed to terms with former Buffalo Bills quarterback Kyle Allen. Allen is a six-year NFL veteran. He originally came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He spent his first two seasons with the Carolina Panthers and followed that up with two seasons with the Washington Commanders. He spent 2022 season with the Houston Texans and was the backup to Josh Allen in Buffalo last season. In 19 career starts, Allen…
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have been named a landing spot for former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd all offseason. But with no deal in place, a team insider is letting it be known that, maybe, there wasn’t as much interest as reported. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac said during his weekly chat that he’s not too sure there was any interest from the Steelers in signing Boyd. This comes after multiple reports that they were in conversations with each other, but then that the chances he signs were fading. “I don’t know if they were really alive,” Dulac…
