Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant has not received an all-defensive honor in his historic 17-year career. Durant’s coach, Frank Vogel, said his superstar is deserving of it. “I think he should absolutely get first- or second-team [all-defense],” he said.  That’s my opinion.” Durant with the Suns is averaging a combined 2.1 stocks (1.2 blocks and 0.9 steals per game). He is No. 55 in all-time defensive win shares, which tracks defense that leads to wins. An all-defensive honor would help Durant’s GOAT case “Why shouldn’t I be in that?” Durant told AZCentral. “That’s the question you should ask. Durant is a two-time champion, one-time regular-season MVP-winner and a two-time…

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers may be on the verge of something big. As Brandon Aiyuk trade rumors heat up, one NFL insider is dropping a hint that there may be a move in the making coming soon. Benjamin Allbright set the NFL X world on fire with his tweet including the eye balls emoji and a text threat with an unknown recipient, discussing the Steelers trying to land Aiyuk. The Steelers are reportedly still looking for a wide receiver trade and have explored the market for Aiyuk throughout the offseason. The 26-year-old has recently unfollowed the San Francisco 49ers on…

There are so many legitimate reasons for the 49ers to at least consider trading Brandon Aiyuk this offseason. His trade value never will be higher. He’s going to cost a ton of money. The 49ers won’t be able to justify spending that much on him. They don’t throw him the ball enough. They don’t maximize his skill set. They’re already paying top dollar for a wide receiver, and they’ll be paying top dollar for a quarterback next year. They can deal him to another team and draft a replacement, someone younger, cheaper, faster and potentially more talented than Aiyuk. But not better…

A seasoned veteran’s brain explosion on Walsh will see him sidelined for a minimum of two weeks. ALEXANDER STUART WRITER | APRIL 13, 2024 – 11:13AM 1794 The NRL community has collectively blown up following an incident involving Dolphins player Anthony Milford, after his controversial blind side hit on Broncos’ fullback Reece Walsh during the recent instalment of The Battle of Brisbane. The Broncos ultimately secured the 28-14 victory, despite only leading 6-4 at half-time and enjoying a significant advantage with the Dolphins losing fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow to a hamstring injury. The incident adds another layer to the Dolphins’ growing absentee concerns, which already included players like Felise…

The Dallas Cowboys have made very little headlines this offseason due to their inactivity in free agency. However, there has been significant NFL news on contract talks with quarterback Dak Prescott and there’s now more information on negotiations between the two sides. There has seemed to be a lot of back-and-forth between Dallas and its star quarterback since the team was eliminated from the playoffs. Team owner Jerry Jones pushed back on a possible extension but CEO Stephen Jones indicated that the club ‘absolutely‘ wants to extend Prescott’s contract. Dak Prescott contract: $55.455 million cap hit in 2024, NFL free agent in 2025

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has thrown his weight behind the NFL ‘s recent ban on the swivel hip-drop tackle, despite facing backlash from players. The NFL owners unanimously voted last month at their annual meeting to eliminate the hip-drop tackle from the game. Any player caught using this now-illegal move during a match will face a 15-yard penalty. However, Troy Vincent, the NFL’s executive vice president of football operations, hinted that it might result in warning letters and fines post-match rather than being flagged during the game. Harbaugh has been advocating for the ban since his star tight end, Mark Andrews,…

native Orenthal “OJ” Simpson to cancer this week has the country grappling with how to define a man who was both loved and reviled in his lifetime. But his trial and acquittal for murder may have also been one of the most divisive times of the 20th century and the beginning of what some are calling a “post-truth” society. Simpson was raised in the housing projects of Potrero Hill. He then rose to prominence for his football skills playing for City College of San Francisco. From there he won the Heisman Trophy in 1968 for University of Southern California, then went…

essentially all their picks — save for No. 1 overall — for one guy might be asking too much. Albert Breer of Bleacher Report on Wednesday, April 10, authored a mailbag in which he discussed Chicago’s potential to move up from the No. 9 pick somewhere into the top five to draft Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. While Breer said he loved the idea, he added that it will be difficult considering how much that kind of move will cost. Chicago has improved its roster under GM Ryan Poles, to the point where there aren’t a…

Much of the Cowboys’ 2024 offseason has been defined by the team’s lack of progress on extension talks with quarterback Dak Prescott entering the final year of his current deal. On the horizon, though, are mega-deals for edge rusher Micah Parsons and wideout CeeDee Lamb. With the latter having been drafted one year earlier than the former, he understandably represents a higher priority for Dallas. Lamb is in line to secure a massive raise on his second contract, but he is already on the books for 2024 via his $17.99MM fifth-year option. Team and player are positioned to discuss an…

The portal giveth, and the portal taketh away. While the Tennessee Vols benefitted from the former last year with the arrival of Dalton Knecht, the latter has reared its ugly head twice this week. This time, it’s center Jonas Aidoo, who is reportedly entering the transfer portal and declaring for the NBA Draft, per multiple outlets. It’s the second major portal loss this week, with forward Tobe Awaka announcing his intent to transfer on Tuesday. There’s no other way to say it. That’s just a massive loss for the Vols. Forget the recency bias that some fans have for Aidoo’s…
