When Senior Bowl practices begin here Tuesday, Isaac Williams will be a little busier than the rest of the Steelers coaches in attendance at Hancock Whitney Stadium. The NBA announced the starters for the 2024 NBA All-Star game last week. Fortunately for the Phoenix Suns, forward Kevin Durant made it to the list, thanks to his play this season. Yesterday, 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk made a catch that reminded those of us who saw it live of the one-of-a-kind reception made by Steelers receiver Lynn Swann in Super Bowl X. As it turns out, Swann was drafted by the Steelers 50 years ago today. Yes, the draft used to be held before Groundhog Day. For the Steelers, every year had been Groundhog Day, with the exception of the season of the Immaculate Reception. The Toronto Raptors started off their six game road trip with a back-and-forth battle to the finish against the Atlanta Hawks. In rather sub-par circumstances for the Raptors, injury trouble saw a number of players, including Jakob Poeltl, RJ Barrett, and Immanuel Quickley spending the game on the bench. Sunday night was one to remember for Saddiq Bey. The Atlanta Hawks forward scored 26 points in the win over the Toronto Raptors. Additionally, his big outing was capped by a game-winning putback with 1.3 seconds left in regulation. As the final seconds of the game ticked away, the Hawks had possession of the ball while down by one, 125-124. Trae Young drove to the rim and attempted a finger roll in traffic.
