You mess with the Terrible Towel, you get the horns. Er, something like that. The Jacksonville Jaguars blew a chance to make the playoffs Sunday in a loss to the Tennessee Titans. In the process, they cleared the path for the Pittsburgh Steelers to make the postseason. Steelers social media marked the occasion by taking time to troll the now-vanquished Jaguars. They did so with a callback to what accounts to a personal affront in Pittsburgh — disrespect of the Terrible Towel. Jaguars safety Andrew Wingard intercepted Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky in a Week 8 Jacksonville victory.…
Pascal Siakam is expected to be traded ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline. The two-time All-NBA forward is in the final few months of his current four-year, $136.9 million contract. He will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. As such, the Toronto Raptors have three choices: trade him, re-sign him, or lose him for nothing in the summer. This time last season, the Raptors were in a similar situation with Fred VanVleet, who signed with the Houston Rockets in the offseason. Toronto won’t want to risk losing a second star. With that in…
The Dallas Cowboys steamrolled the Washington Commanders 38-10 to clinch their second division title in three years and secure the No.2 seed in the NFC. However, there was some concern for cornerback Stephon Gilmore, who left the game after a shoulder injury just before the end of the first half. Gilmore was ruled out for the rest of the game. However, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said that Gilmore told him he’ll be good to go for their playoff matchup with the Green Bay Packers. The former first-round pick returned to the field with his right shoulder in a sling…

Now, he’s good to go. This will be only the fourth complete game that the Suns’ Big 3 will play together. The Suns ruled out Bol Bol, who suffered a right ankle…
Even though the game is being played at MetLife Stadium, one New York Giants defender was clearly feeling in the spirit of the City of Brotherly Love during his team’s Week 18 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. After a drive stalled out in what amounted to a frustrating first half for the Eagles, punter Braden Mann trotted out for Philadelphia and booted a kick, just as New York linebacker Cam Brown came hurtling towards him. Brown’s momentum carried him into Mann, which would undoubtedly have been a penalty for running into the kicker. However, Brown made an, er, adjustment, seemingly…

The Giants placed safety Jason Pinnock (foot) on injured reserve. Pinnock, who had already been declared out of the game on Friday, was injured in the first quarter of last week’s loss against the Rams. Dane Belton is expected to get the start in his place. The team also signed quarterback Jacon Eason and tight end Tyree Jackson from their practice squad to the 53-man roster. Eason, who was signed to the practice squad…
