PHILIPPE CLEMENT looks set to finally make his return to management – eight months on from his Rangers axe.
The Belgian manager has been without a dugout role since he shown the door at Rangers back in February.
Clement, 51, has been making good use of his time away from management, though, as he recently underwent hip surgery after putting it off for some time due to his busy schedule.
He’s been on the road to recovery over the last few weeks and recently revealed he will be ready to take on another job as gaffer nextmonth.
Speaking to Belgian outlet GVA this month, Clement stated that he’s been forced to wait until he makes his full recovery before landing a new job.
He was just ‘two or three weeks’ away from being fully fit when he discussed his future in that interview.
The out-of-work manager even expressed his desire to take on a new challenge in a different country as he wants to enjoy ‘new adventures and new cultures’.
Just days after that interview was released, Clement was linked with the vacant position at Polish side Pogoń Szczecin.
Clement has managed in three different countries to date: Belgium, France, and Scotland.
But his fourth destination might not be Polandafter all.
That’s because the Belgian is now on the radar of a top club in Germany.
According to German outlet Bild, Clement is the number one candidate to take over at struggling side Borussia Mönchengladbach
Eugen Polanski took over as boss on an interim basis just last week as Gerardo Seoane’s successor after he was sacked following a dismal start to the season.
Gladbach are now without a win in ELEVEN matches, but Polanski managed to hold Bayer Leverkusen to a 1-1 draw in his first game in charge after Haris Tabakovic’s late equaliser.
He will take on last season’s third place side, Eintracht Frankfurt, in his second game tomorrow night and Gladbach fans will be right behind him.
