Kansas Jayhawks Wrap Up Spring Football, While Baseball Sweeps K-State in Sunflower Showdown

The Kansas Jayhawks football team has officially concluded its spring practices, marking a period of quiet confidence and steady progress as they build on recent momentum. Head coach Lance Leipold praised the team’s energy throughout camp and noted key improvements on both sides of the ball. One of the main storylines this spring has been quarterback Jalon Daniels’ return to full health. After a 2024 season marred by injury, Daniels looks sharp and composed, reigniting hopes for a breakout 2025 campaign. Several newcomers also made strong impressions, including a trio of defensive backs brought in to tighten up the secondary. With the spring game in the rearview, all eyes now turn to summer conditioning and fine-tuning the playbook. Meanwhile, the Jayhawks baseball team made headlines of its own by sweeping rival Kansas State in the Sunflower Showdown—its first series sweep over the Wildcats since 2019. The momentum from that baseball win has energized the broader Kansas fan base, creating a ripple effect of school spirit across campus. For Jayhawk supporters, it’s a refreshing sign that Kansas athletics are on the rise, not just in hoops, but across the board. There’s cautious optimism that this fall could mark a turning point for KU football.
