Gold Coast forward Keenan Palasia has been charged by the match review committee following the Titans’ Magic Round clash against the Knights on Saturday afternoon.
Placed on report in the 58th minute, the enforcer has been hit with a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charge on Newcastle back Enari Tuala in what is deemed to be his first offence.
But in good news for the Titans enforcer, the early guilty plea will only result in a $1,000 fine. Should he elect to fight the charge and be found guilty at the hearing, he will be charged $1,800.
No plea has been submitted at this time.
Keenan Palasia will move from the Broncos to the Titans in 2024, inking a two-year deal with the rival QLD club.
The 25-year-old was off-contract at the end of next season and with interest from multiple clubs across the competition, Gold Coast were keen to lure him away from Brisbane.
St George Illawarra were also reportedly interested in Palasia’s services, but the versatile forward opted to stay in the sunshine state and will remain at the Titans until the end of 2025.
Palasia was originally seeking an early release from the Broncos, but at this stage it is unlikely to be granted.
