The departure of Johnson didn’t really come as a major surprise. Last season, he had scored eight Premier League goals for Forest and interest was always going to be pretty rife.
A product of the club’s academy, Johnson served the club with distinction at senior level. He was instrumental as the Reds won promotion to the Premier League during the 2021/22 campaign.
After a slow start to life in the Premier League, the winger came to life after the World Cup. He scored crucial goals for Forest against Leeds and Everton which ultimately helped the team survive relegation.
Offloading the youngster was always going to be likely. Forest have profitability and sustainability regulations to try and meet and Johnson was always the player to bring in a hefty transfer fee.
Now, some statistics have showcased that Johnson is doing exceptionally well at Tottenham. It’s also been claimed how much the 22-year-old is worth following his departure from Forest.
