Josh Heupel is developing his third quarterback in four years as Tennessee football prepares to bounce back to SEC contention after a less-than-impressive 2023 season. The Vols have won 27 games in Heupel’s three years and will look to compete in a newly expanded SEC with a redshirt freshman at quarterback. Nico Iamaleava is up for the challenge. He came to Knoxville as the No. 2 player in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 1 player out of California, according to 247 Sports. As a result, he has been one of, if not the most anticipated player on Rocky Top in my…
The 2024 season was another case of so-close-but-so-far for head coach Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers. They were again one of the best teams in the NFL, they made the Super Bowl and then let another double-digit lead in a big game slip away during crunch time. At some point they need to get over the hump. The 49ers have spent the offseason overhauling their defensive line, but there is still more work they can do. Let’s talk about three moves they can make.
After allowing Saquon Barkley to walk in free agency, the New York Giants have retooled their running back room around Devin Singletary. NYG general manager Joe Schoen also drafted a ball carrier for the second straight offseason while signing an intriguing rookie in Dante “Turbo” Miller. That creates an interesting training camp competition behind Singletary at the position, and 2021 sixth rounder Gary Brightwell Jr. could be the odd man out with a lackluster preseason. “Drafted in the sixth round in 2021 under former head coach Joe Judge, Gary Brightwell has had limited opportunities, with just 42 rushing attempts for 173 yards and one touchdown,” Empire Sports Media…
Goldin Auction’s second annual Goldin 100 event displays the rarest and most valuable collectibles of the year. The 2024 roundup does not disappoint, with a variety of pop culture items and sports memorabilia, including a one-of-a-kind, signed Michael Jordan 2003 ultimate collection card. The card is currently valued at $2 million, but Goldin Auctions CEO and founder Ken Goldin told FOX Business in an on-camera interview that he thinks it could sell for much more than that. “It probably will sell for between $3 million and $5 million,” he said. “I think [it’s] the best-ever Michael Jordan card.” Any…
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has leveled up during the NBAÂ playoffs and consequently has caught the attention of many. That includes Hall of Fame basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski. The now-retired coach has worked with many basketball greats at Duke and as part of Team USA. He never got to coach Edwards, but Krzyzewski is definitely keeping an eye on the former Georgia Bulldog. “The emergence of Anthony Edwards, everyone knew he was really good, but the playoffs give opportunities for players to get to another level, if they can get to another level,” Krzyzewski, speaking ahead of an event for…
The passage of time has ruined every possible debate of the greatest players from every era and how they stack up against one another, and Cleveland Cavalier legend LeBron James’ legacy is no different. While James has played enough time in the NBA to face multiple generations of NBA talents, figuratively and literally, the debate between LeBron’s greatness and Michael Jordan’s greatness is undecided with such drastically different eras of basketball that each player dominated. There will never be a game in which prime LeBron James guards prime Michael Jordan in a Game 7 to decide the fate of the…

Sources close to the situation speaking on the condition of anonymity say the Los Angeles Lakers are operating with the understanding that Tyronn Lue will not be available this offseason and have zeroed in on JJ Redick as their next head coach. Previously, it was thought they would not move forward with anyone until they got clarity on that situation. Sources say the Lakers have gotten that clarity to the extent that they can without breaking tampering rules and are now moving on. For their part, the Los Angeles Clippers have been waiting on the Lakers to hire a head…
