The most discussed and glaring need for the Bills is at wide receiver. Yet, its the defense that continually lets comeback king Josh Allen, and the faithful Bills Mafia, down each year. Non-returning 2023 defensive starters include the losses of safety Jordan Poyer, middle linebacker Tyrel Dodson, outside linebacker Leonard Floyd, safety Micah Hyde and cornerback Tre’Davious White. So targeting defense in round one of the upcoming NFL Draft may be a smart move for the Bills seemingly depleted defense. In CBS Sports latest mock draft, analyst Tom Fornelli has Buffalo making defense a draft priority by taking Illinois defensive tackle…
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Los Angeles Rams on Thursday traded wide receiver Ben Skowronek and a 2026 7th-round pick to the Houston Texans in exchange for a 2026 6th-round pick. A longtime special teams contributor during his time in L.A., Skowronek played in 45 games across three seasons with the Rams, making 12 starts. He was also part of their Super Bowl LVI-winning team in 2021. On offense, his most productive season statistically came in 2022, when he registered 39 receptions for 376 yards and also scored a 17-yard rushing touchdown. That season was also highlighted by his impressive…
In a past life, I would have appreciated the bluntness that New England head coach Jerod Mayo recently served to Pats rookie quarterback Drake Maye, and I would have asked why a rah-rah Bears head coach, pick a rah-rah Bears head coach, couldn’t be similarly honest about his rookie quarterback, pick a rookie quarterback.
Touching base on several topics ahead of the Sky’s first game of the new season against the Dallas Wings on May 15, the rookie forward, who turned 22 on Monday, shared her desire to hopefully chat with the former Chicago Bullsguard – a six-time NBA champion – one day soon. ‘There are so many great players that have come before us here. Candace [Parker] being retired. Michael Jordan,’ Reese told WGN News. ‘I want Michael Jordan to come to a game. I’m telling you right now. I want Michael Jordan to come to a game. ‘I’ve never met him! That’ll be…
The Detroit Lions had one of their best seasons ever last year and certainly their best season in a very long time. The Lions won the NFC North and hosted a home playoff game last season against the Los Angeles Rams. It was the first playoff win for the Lions in over 30 years, and they got another home playoff game and win after that against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was a great season, and the players that Detroit picked in the 2023 NFL Draft helped them out a lot. A lot of people questioned Brad Holmes and the Lions after the 2023 NFL Draft…
CeeDee Lamb is search for a new contract from the Dallas Cowboys, and the team does not appear eager to let the issue linger. Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones told reporters on Saturday that there is no timetable to work out a deal with Lamb, but that big contracts “move rapidly” once the process actually gets started. Jones suggested that the Cowboys would like to get a deal done before the start of training camp, however. It does not appear that the Cowboys have a hard deadline, but a contract dispute is certainly not something the team would want to…

Jordan Westburg racked up four hits, including a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning, as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 on Saturday. Anthony Santander’s two-out solo home run in the eighth inning pulled the Orioles even at 4-4. Craig Kimbrel (4-1) worked the top of the 11th and didn’t allow a hit for the victory. Westburg then opened the home half of the frame with his game-winning single. Ketel Marte homered for the second day in a row for the Diamondbacks, who have lost the first two games of the three-game series…
Will the Los Angeles Lakers look to reverse the sins of their past? The Magic 8 Ball says, “Don’t count on it.” Shams Charania of The Athletic appeared this week on “The Pat McAfee Show” and spoke on the possibility of Frank Vogel returning to the Lakers after his recent firing by the Phoenix Suns. Unfortunately for all the nostalgics, though, it does not look like a reunion will be happening. Charania said during the appearance that the Lakers have not shown any interest in bringing Vogel back. Of the several names Charania has heard surrounding the Lakers opening, Vogel is not…
The Chicago Sky are full-fledged into a new era. They’ve brought in Teresa Weatherspoon, a head coach who has been part of the WNBA since its inception but is new to the league in a coaching role. General Manager Jeff Pagliocca is also new to his role, although very familiar with the league, the Chicago Sky, and its players through his player development background. The team even has three players presently on the roster that are brand new to the league, by way of the 2024 WNBA Draft. Newness often breeds a level of ambiguity, but said ambiguity does not have to…
