We’ve seen all the draft grades. We’ve heard what the NFL analysts had to say. And earlier this week, fans of all 32 teams voted if they thought their favorite team was a winner or a loser of the 2024 NFL Draft. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Chicago Bears fans are extremely happy with the five-man class that general manager Ryan Poles came away with. His haul saw 99% of our fans call it a winning class. No other fanbase was as confident in their team’s class as Bears fans were in ours. Fans of the Chiefs, Rams, and Steelers were…

Protesters chanted anti-war messages and waved Palestinian flags during the University of Michigan’s commencement Saturday, as student demonstrations against the Israel-Hamas war collided with the annual pomp-and-circumstance of graduation season at American universities. The protest happened at the beginning of the event at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. About 75 people, many wearing traditional Arabic kaffiyeh along with their graduation caps, marched up the main aisle toward the graduation stage. They chanted “Regents, regents, you can’t hide! You are funding genocide!” while holding signs, including one that read: “No universities left in Gaza.” Overhead, planes flew competing messages. One read:…

By the end of last season, Frank Ragnow’s listing on the injury report might have required a breathe to get through (toe/ankle/knee/back). So after the NFC Championship Game loss to the 49ers, it wasn’t surprising to hear the Lions’ three-time Pro Bowl center plainly take accounting of all the ailments he dealt with. Light speculation about retirement followed, which he quickly squashed at NFL Honors. But it’s fair to say some years have been taken off Ragnow’s career. Entering his seventh season and nearing 28 years old (May 17), he’s probably not going to play until he’s 35. It may become a…

So far, the Steelers’ quest to land a proven veteran wideout has been like the ending of “Sopranos”: a lot of buildup that ended in a black abyss. We may never know what happened to Tony Soprano, but time will ultimately determine how Pittsburgh’s receiver situation will unfold. So, here’s what we know so far, or at least according to reports. Pittsburgh was in on free agent Tyler Boyd, but monetary differences nixed a possible signing. The Steelers were interested in 49ers WR Deebo Samuel, but were not willing to meet San Francisco’s asking price. Pittsburgh inquired about acquiring Broncos WR Courtland Sutton before and during the draft. The Steelers have inquired about Seahawks WR DK Metcalf. So far, the Steelers…

Nikki Spoelstra, the ex-wife of Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, hit back at internet trolls who joked she had ‘fumbled the bag’ after the couple’s recent divorce. Spoelstra signed a record eight-year extension – worth more than $120million – on Tuesday, making him one of the NBA’s highest-paid coaches. It comes just two months after the couple confirmed their divorce in November. According to crass, ignorant, uninformed society at large, women can’t “win.” Women can’t be genuinely in love with someone successful,’ Spoelstra said on social media. ‘No, they’re pretending they’re in it for the money.’ ‘And if a…

Scott Sattler, a 2003 premiership winner with Penrith and son of Rabbitohs royalty John Sattler, told AAP of the care the club must take after sacking Jason Demetriou, who was Bennett’s choice as his successor after he left Souths at the end of 2021. ‘Purely due to Wayne’s brilliance in coaching and man management (appointing Bennett) is probably a decision I wouldn’t make at Souths,’ Sattler said. ‘If I was Parramatta and Brad Arthur’s position was in jeopardy then I would understand it, as a club that hasn’t tasted premiership success in nearly 40 years. ‘Wayne did a great job…

Nearly a decade after his departure, speculation about Kevin Durant returning to the Oklahoma City Thunder persists, with some oddsmakers even favoring the Thunder as his potential destination at age 35. Durant has been involved in unsuccessful ventures lately. The Brooklyn Nets signed him and Kyrie Irving in 2019 but ended up trading away future prospects and depth to bring in James Harden, yielding no significant results. Similarly, the Phoenix Suns attempted to acquire Durant via trade from the Nets, depleting their roster depth and future trade assets. Their failure to secure a championship leaves them at a crossroads in…

LAS VEGAS — The blast from the point hit Roope Hintz in the right arm, causing him to fall to the ice in pain. Just seconds later, however, he sent the same puck into the empty net on the other side of the rink to seal the victory. “That’s how you win championships,” Jake Oettinger said. The Stars as a team are showing their mettle, bouncing back from losing the first two games of their NHL playoffs first-series at home.

The Cincinnati Bengals feel they got a good one with the addition of fifth-round draft choice Josh Newton out of TCU. Newton, a 6-foot cornerback who started his college career at Louisiana-Monroe, helped TCU reach the National Championship Game in 2022. This past season, he had 33 total tackles and an interception. The Bengals had Newton graded higher than a fifth-round selection where he fell last weekend to Cincinnati. “While the Bengals had a higher grade than the fifth on TCU cornerback Josh Newton and have visions of him staking his claim as possibly the fourth cornerback,” Bengals.com’s Geoff Hobson reported following the draft.…

In the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders addressed their offensive line by selecting Delmar ‘DJ’ Glaze out of Maryland. Glaze is an interesting prospect because while he has a strong track record in pass protection at offensive tackle, his traits suggest he’d be better suited as a guard at the next level. For example, the former Terripan earned pass-blocking grades from Pro Football Focus in the mid-80s and only gave up 32 pressures on over 1,000 opportunities over the last two seasons. However, he lacks some foot speed/quickness which can lead to short corners around the edge. Also, Glaze…
