It’s a definite long shot, but there is a way the Chicago Bears could walk away with both quarterback Caleb Williams and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. in the upcoming NFL draft. The Bears are nearly a lock to select Williams at No. 1 overall, and both the Washington Commanders (pick No. 2) and New England Patriots (pick No. 3) are predicted to draft a QB. It’s at pick Nos. 4 and 5 where things get interesting. The Arizona Cardinals are currently in possession of the No. 4 selection, and if the Minnesota Vikings — another squad in desperate need of a quarterback — trade up to No. 4, Harrison would still be…

The San Francisco 49ers have made some minor changes to their front seven on defense after narrowly losing in the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs, but they will be returning largely the same core that came to the brink of winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy. While defense is the main strength of the team, its offense is also one of the NFL’s best, and on Monday, two signings that will bolster its depth were announced. The 49ers officially signed tight end Eric Saubert and running back Patrick Taylor Jr., per Around The NFL. Saubert played last season with…

The Yankees played one of the fastest games I’ve ever personally watched, and certainly when accounting for the fact they scored seven runs. Nestor Cortes went through the Marlins lineup like it was soft butter, Anthony Volpe was a star on both sides of the ball, and New York won its third straight, 7-0. The official time of game was 121 minutes, the Yanks’ shortest nine-inning affair since 1992 — and that one was a loss! Now, was Nestor Cortes good or was he just facing the third-worst offense in baseball? I’m in a good mood, so I’m going to say both. He pitched a clean…

NORMAN — Peyton Bowen wants to be a first-team All-SEC safety this season. It’s a lofty goal for the Oklahoma sophomore and former five-star prospect in the 2023 class, and one he believes he can achieve. The talent is certainly there, and Brent Venables has referred to him as one of the cornerstones of the Sooners’ secondary this spring. While he has set out that individual goal for himself, though, it’s secondary to the bigger picture for Bowen heading into Year 2 at OU. “I want to go to a national championship, get into the 12-team (playoff), win a national championship,” Bowen said. “I want to…

SEC football, considered by most the best conference in the world among their respective sport, will welcome two of the game’s most storied programs to their ranks next fall, the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns. The hyper-competitive SEC will continue to feature the Georgia Bulldogs, the LSU Tigers, and the Alabama Crimson Tide, winners of four of the last five College Football Playoff titles. Many of the top schools in the conference persist in retooling for an undoubtedly hectic 2024 campaign. However, one school lost a trio of players to the transfer portal on Monday. According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, the Missouri Tigers watched…

The Fijian Drua have issued a statement following ugly scenes during their game with the Melbourne in which a member of the crowd was ejected for allegedly racially abusing Frank Lomani. The match turned ugly following a number of ill-discipline by Fijian Drua players, with the side ultimately finishing the game with just 13 men. Drua lost former Rebels halfback Lomani to a red card for a deliberate foul when he elbowed the back of the head of lock Josh Canham. Frank Lomani, the Fiji scrum-half, has received an apology from the Melbourne Rebels after he was allegedly called a “black c—” by one of the club’s supporters while playing for Fijian Drua last week. Lomani was sent off for a dangerous elbow to the back of the head of Josh Canham in the second half, and is to have his red card reviewed by a foul play review committee on Monday. As Lomani took his seat on the bench, television footage captured him then standing up and angrily moving his chair while turning towards the crowd. A complaint of racist abuse was…

An elite wide receiver recently made a remark about what he thought of the New York Giants quarterback situation this offseason that should ruffle the feathers of Daniel Jones. Jones is recovering from an ACL injury he suffered last season. The New York Giants have two backup quarterbacks on the roster The Giants brought in Drew Lock in free agency last month to compete with Jones for the starting spot this fall. However, the Giants might draft a quarterback in the first round of April’s draft. The Giants hold the No. 6 pick, and they could take a quarterback there or…
