Not every great offensive mind becomes a great NFL head coach. But that doesn’t mean that mind can’t still be very useful in an offensive coordinator role like with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury is quickly becoming one of the poster children for that argument this offseason. he Athletic’s Mike DeFabo named Kingsbury one of the top potential candidates for the Steelers’ offensive coordinator opening. “Kingsbury is considered something of a quarterback whisperer,” DeFabo wrote. “During his four-year stint as the Arizona Cardinals head coach, he helped Kyler Murray win Offensive Rookie…
Chicago Bears are interviewing former Arizona Cardinals head coach and current USC offensive assistant Kliff Kingsbury for their offensive coordinator job. The move was expected, and there is some upside to the decision. It also would make it easy to prognosticate what the Bears do with the first overall pick, considering Kingsbury coach Caleb Williams at USC last year. Should the Chicago Bears hire Kliff Kingsbury to be their offensive coordinator? Still, there would be some questions to the hire. First, last year was the most disappointing year of Caleb Williams’ career. It is not directly because…

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce walked off the team jet in Buffalo on Saturday sporting a burgundy winter cap, a colorful striped shirt and a mustard yellow jacket paired with aviator sunglasses. It was quite the interesting fashion statement for the star tight end, which naturally opened up the floor for some jokes from family, friends and football fans. Let’s start with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jason Kelce, who couldn’t help but roast his brother for the bold look. “Looks like he’s auditioning for a new Wes Anderson film,” Jason Kelce posted on…
FRISCO – In a “new report” on the job security of Mike McCarthy, ESPN both regurgitates old news and puts a weirdly positive spin on a Dallas Cowboys decision that by any measure is a “jury-is-out” situation. In response to one of the one of the most shocking and disappointing ends to a season in the franchise’s storied 64-year history, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on Wednesday night chose to retain McCarthy as his head coach. As we wrote that night: “By deciding to retain his head coach and make him work next season with no job security and on the…

According to NBA insider Matt Moore of Action Network, the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets are interested in trading for Toronto Raptors swingman Gary Trent Jr. The Raptors, after trading OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam, are in rebuild mode and could look to move more veterans. “They’re not done. Word is that everyone who isn’t Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, or Jakob Poeltl is available. The Raptors want to reset their timeline in terms of the age of their players. Curiously, Poeltl is 28,” Moore wrote in his latest NBA trade rumors column. “Gary Trent Jr.…
Julian Okwara Getty Julian Okwara tries to make a play on Jalen Hurts in 2021. Julian Okwara is back with the Detroit Lions just one day after the team released the veteran defensive end to make room for another returning player. The Lions had waived Okwara on January 19 as second-year edge rusher James Houston was added to the active roster, but Okwara was able to return to the practice squad on Saturday after going unclaimed on waivers.
