The Phoenix Suns (23-18) and Indiana Pacers (24-18) have released their injury reports for tomorrow night’s matchup at Footprint Center. Most notably for the Suns, Bol Bol will miss his fourth straight game with a right foot sprain. Bol has been out for five of the Suns’ last six matchups. In the four contests Bol has played in 2024, he has registered over double-digit minutes in all four after not recording a game over five minutes in 2023 with Phoenix. In these four games, Bol is averaging 8.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 16.8…
Las Vegas Raiders coach Antonio Pierce has heard plenty of support from his own players. Now, he is hearing it from Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson. Johnson knows Pierce personally and spoke glowingly about him during an appearance on “All Facts No Brakes” with former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson this week. “With Antonio Pierce, kind of knowing him for a little bit, but just knowing his style, knowing his personality, there’s a lot players can relate to and it’s a lot you can respect,” Johnson said. “I think a lot of it too and people don’t really…
The Pittsburgh Steelers made the postseason after amounting to 10 wins and seven losses in the regular season. However, they were dominated by the Buffalo Bills in the first round, ending their season after an improbable run. Many fans think the Steelers need to get another quarterback after starter Kenny Pickett and backup Mitch Trubisky suffered injuries, leaving Mason Rudolph as the starter for the rest of the year. Now, the team is being linked to an intriguing NFC South quarterback that they could pursue in free agency should he become available. According to a report done by Pro…
The Los Angeles Lakers were viewed as one of the best teams in the NBA ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season. Although the Lakers made several changes to the roster during the offseason, it didn’t really help the team in improving After all, with more than half of the games already being played this season, the Lakers are still the 10th seed in the Western Conference with a 21-21 record. As a result, it’s no surprise that the Lakers are tilting toward the decision to trade for another player before the February 08 trade deadline. According…
It has been an interesting few weeks to start the New Year for the Phoenix Suns, along with their fan base, leading up to the February 8 trade deadline in the NBA. The peaks and the valleys, the highs and the lows. Beating the Orlando Magic in the Miami Heat…yay! Losing to the Portland Trail Blazers and blasted by the Los Angeles Clippers…boo! Like every team in the NBA, the Suns have holes in their team. The challenge that they face is they do not have many outs to fill those holes from a roster construction standpoint. That conundrum…
In many ways, the Chicago Bears are in an enviable position this offseason. The team has some exciting young players, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and a ton of cap space. Much has been made about whether the Bears will take a quarterback at No. 1, or if they will roll with Justin Fields. Another decision is what to do with head coach Matt Eberflus. Considering the coach has not been fired yet, it seems unlikely he will be at this point. Assuming Eberflus is getting another chance, the coach will want to go all…
Earlier this evening NFLcom’s Tom Pelissero reported the Atlanta Falcons would be conducting a second interview with Jim Harbaugh next week. He’ll join former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick on the list of candidates to receive second looks. That’s not just noteworthy news on the Falcons front (where Belichick is the presumed favorite), it’s noteworthy on the Chargers front as well. Many in NFL circles have mentioned Harbaugh as the favorite to be the Bolts next headman, and after the organization met its Rooney Rule requirement of two in-person interviews with minority candidates with yesterday’s interview of David…
The great debate rages on among Bears fans. It’s creating a civil war of sorts. On one side are supporters of Justin Fields, those who chanted at the regular-season finale to bring back their quarterback. On the other side are those who have seen Detroit’s passing game, Minnesota’s passing game and now Jordan Love stepping up to ignite Green Bay’s passing attack, and wonder: “What happened to much-promised Bears passing game?” They want the first pick of the 2024 NFL Draft used for Caleb Williams. They feel Fields failed or former offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and former coach…
Pascal Siakam is no longer a Raptor but his love affair with Toronto will continue. The 29-year-old all-star forward was traded from the Raptors to the Indiana Pacers earlier this week, the last major player from Toronto’s 2019 NBA championship roster to leave the team. But Siakam, who is from Douala, Cameroon, said in an article written for the Players’ Tribune on Friday that after eight seasons in Toronto, it’s now his home. “It’s where I live. It’s where so many of the things I care about are, and where my brothers and sisters are, and where my…
FRISCO – Mike McCarthy is claiming the Dallas Cowboys are a “championship program.” And as we sat down here at The Star during the Wednesday presser as he said it? We were not quite sure how he was coming to that conclusion, based on … you know … the evidence. Nor were we sure how he is differentiating between what he called Dallas’ present status as a “a championship program” and where he plans on taking “America’s Team” – to being a “world championship” team. “We have established a championship program; it’s just not the world championship yet,” McCarthy said.…
