The coaching search for Darvin Ham’s successor has officially begun for the Los Angeles Lakers, with the storied franchise tasked with the challenge of finding a new head coach who can handle the bright lights of the City of Angels while also coaching two superstars who immediately want to compete for an NBA title next season. Following the expected firing of Ham on Friday, a few coaching candidates have emerged as potential targets for the Lakers and general manager Rob Pelinka. The two names that seem to be getting mentioned more than most are Tyronn Lue of the Los Angeles…
The Buffalo Bills bolstered the back end of their roster on Friday, bringing in three veteran players at positions of need. The team signed wide receiver Chase Claypool, defensive end Dawuane Smoot, and linebacker Deion Jones to one-year contracts. Terms of the deals were not immediately available. Jones, 29, was rumored to have signed yesterday. We covered him at the time the rumor became known, but the team has made his signing official. At best, Jones is a capable veteran with plenty of starting experience whose athletic profile and proficiency in pass coverage make him a good fit for the team in a pinch. At…

Are the Miami Heat on the cusp of implosion? According to NBA insider David Aldridge, the relationship between Butler and the Heat franchise has soured in recent months — and he has it on good authority that both sides are nearing their breaking point. “There have been murmurings this year that Butler and the Heat may no longer be singing from the same hymnal,” wrote Aldridge via The Athletic. “Butler, famously, does things his way, and Miami’s organization, famously, does not brook much individualism. To be sure, Miami doesn’t mind the uncomfortable feelings a player of Butler’s caliber can create in search of…
It won’t be hard for the Toronto Raptors to find someone to root for in the second round of the NBA playoffs this year. OG Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa’s New York Knicks eked past the Philadelphia 76ers and will now play host to Pascal Siakam and the Indiana Pacers beginning on Monday night. Anunoby was crucial for the Knicks in their first-round playoff series, locking down both Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid at points in the series. He threw down a ferocious poster-worthy dunk over Embiid in the fourth quarter Thursday to clinch the series. Achiuwa did not play in…
Breaking: Tennessee’s Star Defensive Player Changes Mind And Will Not Enter The Transfer Portal After A Report Came Out 24 Hours Ago That He Would…
Tennessee will open its SEC schedule on September 21st against a new rival in Oklahoma, and the Volunteers will see one of their defensive linemen on the sidelines for that game who was supposed to enter the transfer portal. Jenkins was a three-star recruit from the class of 2022 and played in six games last season, recording only four tackles. It seemed like Jenkins was out the door and would not return to Knoxville, but things changed. Twenty-four hours after the report came out, he entered the portal.
Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia staunchly defended his team’s roster despite their disappointing performance, claiming that 26 out of the 29 other NBA general managers would readily trade rosters with the Suns. However, this assertion was met with skepticism from across the league, given the Suns’ lackluster playoff showing and their financial constraints. The Suns are burdened by the hefty salaries of three players: Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker, all of whom are on max contracts. Durant’s contract extends through 2026, while Beal is locked in until 2027 with a no-trade clause. Acquiring Durant and Beal required sacrificing future draft…
The Philadelphia Eagles announced the signing of several undrafted free agents ahead of their rookie training camp this weekend. They added two offensive tackles after placing a veteran on injured reserve before OTA practices start this month. The Eagles announced they were signing offensive tackle Gottlieb Ayedze, tight end McCallan Castles, offensive tackle Anim Dankwah, defensive tackle Gabe Hall, safety Andre’ Sam, and Laekin Vakalahi. Vakalahi is coming to the Eagles via the international player pathway, so he will not count against the 90-man list for the offseason.
Defensive lineman Jeramiah McCloud (6-3, 280, Havana, FL. Gadsden County) committed to the Gators just a week after leaving Mississippi State’s class. “I’m home Gator Nation,” McCloud tweeted. McCloud was locked in with the Bulldogs until the Gators offered him this winter and then the defensive lineman made multiple visits to Gainesville. On Wednesday, defensive line coach Gerald Chatman also visited McCloud at his school for a practice where the Gators were able to watch the defensive lineman in action. With the addition of McCloud, the Gators now have him, and defensive lineman Jalen Wiggins committed on the defensive…
Tennessee edge rusher James Pearce Jr.has been projected to go No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft on several mock drafts. He was selected to the All-SEC first-team in 2023 and is regarded as the top returning defensive prospect across college football. Head coach Josh Heupel has noticed the buzz around Pearce and noted that he still has a long way to go before next year’s NFL Draft. However, he was over the top in his praise and explained why Pearce reached his dominant heights as early as he did. “It does speak to his talent and some of…
Ok, hear me out for a second. Putting it straight-forward, what if the Miami Heat and superstar LeBron James reunited? What if his son Bronny James was drafted by the Heat get the hesitation, but allow me to explain why LeBron James in Miami could help the team achieve championship aspirations and why selecting Bronny wouldn’t be a bad choice as most think he would be. With the season ending Wednesday night by the hands of the Boston Celtics, the off-season is going to be as integral as ever and this move could be at the forefront I get the hesitation, but allow me to explain why LeBron…
