The New York Jets currently hold the 10th pick in the NFL Draft, meaning there’s a good chance they’ll be locked into one of the second-tier linemen or receivers. That doesn’t mean New York’s first-round selection won’t be a key piece of a potential Super Bowl window and an attempt at continued success. But in all likelihood, that pick won’t be Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Harrison has long been projected to be the top receiving prospect in this year’s class. His floor, it seems, is the No. 4 pick. That didn’t stop Jets receiver Garrett Wilson from singing…
LEBRON JAMES DISCUSSES LOS ANGELES LAKERS FUTURE AND AMID GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS INTEREST – ‘I DON’T HAVE THE ANSWER’ LeBron James spoke openly and honestly about what the future holds, but it looks like there are still few miles left in the tank. Much of the focus surrounding the 39-year-old across the NBA All-Star Weekend concerned his future, with James quizzed about links with the Golden State Warriors. James admitted that while retirement is close, there are no concrete plans as yet to call it a day. LeBron James hopes to end his career with the Los Angeles Lakers, but…
Charles Barkley has always maintained his stance on what he feels about Kevin Durant as a leader. Today he added some more thoughts on why he feels that the Phoenix Suns need someone other than Durant to lead them to an NBA Championship. Barkley was headlining the commentary at tonight’s All-Star game alongside Draymond Green and Taylor Rooks on #Allcast. While the topic of the Phoenix Suns and the target of the NBA Championship came up, Barkley, a former league MVP with the Suns, said; I really wanted it to be KD but he’s not doing it. To…
Research from NBC Sports Chicago’s Kevin Anderson initially reported the Chicago Bulls would not have a rostered player included in 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend events, something the team hasn’t experienced since 1980. However, Bulls rookie big man Adama Sanogo was selected on Wednesday as an injury replacement for the NBA G League Up Next Game. Bulls NBA All-Star Weekend legacy secured, according to Anderson. With recent scrutiny focused on Chicago’s lack of representation during the slate of events, let’s reflect on the more positive Bulls’ All-Star Weekend highlights over the last five decades. The 1980s The Dunk Contest was…
CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago Bears great Steve McMichael is improving after contracting a staph infection at a suburban hospital, and his family hopes he returns home early this week, his wife said Sunday in a statement. The 66-year-old McMichael, who went public with an ALS diagnosis three years ago, has been hospitalized since Thursday. His family hopes to have him home on Tuesday, wife Misty McMichael said. Meanwhile, it was a packed house on Sunday at PB&J in Fulton Market with first responders battling in a cook-off for the Fifth Annual Recipe Challenge. The event raises money for families…
Should Lions trade up for J.J. McCarthy? Christian Booher: I am admittedly high on JJ McCarthy, but I’m not sure that the Lions should be making a move to go get a quarterback. Additionally, I don’t see Brad Holmes changing his tone after giving Jared Goff relentless support over the last three seasons. I like McCarthy’s winning pedigree and believe that his athletic ability will make him a highly-coveted commodity in the draft. He would fit the Lions’ offensive scheme, but I think the organization is currently set at the position and shouldn’t make a move to get…
Could Brad Holmes end up not giving Jared Goff an extension? Booher: I do believe there is a way that Goff could not get an extension, but the chances of that happening are very slim. He has endeared himself to the city of Detroit and played at a high level, so the Lions shouldn’t consider rolling the dice on a young quarterback when they have the pieces in place to make a Super Bowl run. The one way I could see Goff not getting extended is if the two parties don’t agree on compensation. Holmes plays his…
The Baltimore Ravens have a ton of pending free agents to address when the new league year starts March 13, one of which is star wideout Odell Beckham Jr. Will the Ravens re-sign Beckham after a $16 million payday last year that seems like a terrible overpayment? Or will they attempt to replace him through the draft or free agency? Bleacher Report threw out the possibility that another free agent could replace OBJ in Baltimore, and he just played in the NFC Championship game this past season. Former Texas A&M Aggies wideout Josh Reynolds is one of the more…
The Pittsburgh Steelers could be one of the NFL’s most interesting teams to watch throughout the 2024 offseason. It seems the questions about what’s to come for the organization at quarterback will be inescapable until the day they officially announce their 2024 starter. That is also far from the only position the team needs to address during the offseason. They have major needs on both sides of the ball and could make improving those their focus instead of a new quarterback. In fact, it seems there’s at least a chance that they could decide to address a…
Kevin Durant, now in his 17th NBA season and making his 14th career NBA All-Star appearance tonight, was posed with an interesting question during yesterday’s All-Star media availability. Durant was asked by ESPN’s Tim Bontemps with him, LeBron James and Stephen Curry being the faces of the NBA for almost a decade now if he sees any obvious candidates from this younger generation who will “take on the mantle from you guys when you’re eventually done playing. think each era has five, six, seven guys that help carry the game forward, push the game forward,” Durant responded. “More than…
